On the western part of the Istrian peninsula is Sveti Lovreč, which has been mentioned in written sources since 1030 as "Castrum sancti Laurenti". This hidden gem is one of the best preserved medieval fortified towns in Istria. It is considered that Sveti Lovreč is the first urbanized municipality in Istria. The settlement got its name from the small church of St. Lovro, which dates back to the 8th century.
In one of the extremely valuable historical buildings - the basilica of St. Martin, the oldest frescoes in Istria, created in the 11th century, have been partially preserved and successfully restored so far. The basilica also has the oldest organ in Istria, the work of master Petar Nakić from 1735, which was restored in 2013.
Through the monumental Great Gate, we arrive at the irregularly paved square - Placa, which is dominated by the spacious city loggia - a place that is still used for official gatherings. The stone pillar of shame reminds us that these gatherings were not always of a celebratory nature.
In addition to the above, in St. In Lovreč, it is definitely important to visit the Gothic church of St. Blaž, the High Bell Tower, the triangular tower, the Funtanela tower, the city cistern and numerous other sights.
The circular shape of the settlement dates back to prehistory, when there was a castle on the same hill. Already in the Byzantine era, Lovreč was fortified with ramparts and towers, which were later thoroughly renovated on several occasions, and most of the fortifications visible today originate from the Venetian era, when Sveti Lovreč was the headquarters of the military administration of the entire Venetian part of Istria - the so-called Pazenatic.
Right in the heart of the old town, passing through the monumental Small Gate, we come to the largest courtyard in the old town of Sv. Lovreč, surrounded by walls, where our restored house with swimming pool is located.
The house consists of the ground floor, where there is a spacious living room with kitchen and dining room, and the first floor, where there are two bedrooms with bathrooms and a balcony to which both rooms have access. The yard is complete with a swimming pool and a sunbathing area. In the yard there is also a spacious summer kitchen with a garden set and a dining area, where you can enjoy your meal with a view of the pool.
2 covered parking spaces are inside the yard.
The price refers to the finished house, without furniture. Participate in the construction by choosing materials, designs and colors!
